Refunds on TeachKit

Learn how refunds work for classes sold through TeachKit so students and teachers know who manages payments, policies, and support.

TeachKit connects your classes to your own Stripe account, so refunds are always handled directly between students and the teacher who sold the class. Use the guidance below to understand how that responsibility works in practice.

For students

Who handles my purchase and support?

All paid classes on TeachKit charge through the teacher's connected Stripe account, which means:

  • Your payment goes straight to the teacher who published the class.
  • Each teacher sets their own refund policy and support process.
  • TeachKit does not issue refunds or manage support on the teacher's behalf.

How do I request a refund?

  1. Review the refund policy listed on the class page underneath the Buy now button.
  2. If the class offers refunds, reach out using the support email shown on the checkout receipt or the class page.
  3. Once the teacher approves your request, they will submit the refund through their Stripe dashboard and the funds return to your original payment method.

💡 Tip: Always read the refund policy before purchasing. Some classes may be labeled All sales are final.

For teachers

Can I offer refunds?

Yes. You choose the policy that fits your business and communicate it in TeachKit when publishing your class. The policy appears under the Buy now button so students can review it before checkout.

Common approaches include:

  • No refunds (all sales are final) — often used for shorter, self-paced classes.
  • A limited window, such as offering refunds within seven days of purchase.
  • Conditional policies, for example: "Refunds available within 14 days if less than 30% of the class has been completed."

If you do not specify a policy, TeachKit displays the default message:

"Unless otherwise specified by the creator, refunds are not available for this class. All sales are final."

How do I issue a refund?

  1. Sign in to your Stripe Dashboard and open Payments.
  2. Select the payment you need to refund.
  3. Click Refund, choose a full or partial amount, and confirm. Stripe returns the money to the student's original payment method.

Refund decisions are at your discretion unless a specific law in your region requires otherwise.

Support defaults

  • Students are directed to the support email linked to your Stripe account unless you set a different address in TeachKit.
  • For help updating your refund or support settings, contact support@teachkit.co.

By setting a clear policy and responding quickly to support requests, you can build trust while keeping control of your class revenue.
