Connect SproutVideo

Connect your SproutVideo account and select videos in the class editor.

TeachKit embeds videos hosted by SproutVideo. Upload and manage the original videos with your video provider, then use TeachKit to organize them into lessons.

Connect SproutVideo

  1. Open Connections under Your account.
  2. Find SproutVideo under VIDEO HOSTING SERVICES and select Connect.
  3. Sign in to the provider account you want to use and approve its authorization request.
  4. Return to TeachKit and confirm that the button now says Disconnect.

Add a video to a lesson

Open the class from Your Classes, choose Video Lessons, and open the lesson you want to edit. Open the Video tab and use the provider's video picker to find and select a video, then review the lesson title, duration, and preview before saving your changes.

The connection helps you select existing hosted videos. It does not upload a local video file to the provider or change the video's privacy settings.

Check playback permissions

Test the class as a learner before sharing it. A video that plays while you are signed in to the provider may not be available to everyone else. Confirm that embedding is allowed and that any domain restrictions include the actual TeachKit page where the lesson will play.

If a video is missing or will not play

Check that the correct SproutVideo account is connected, the video still exists, and its permissions allow playback. If the provider authorization has stopped working, reconnect and retry. Do not assume a new upload will appear within a guaranteed number of minutes.

You can also use a supported custom iframe embed. Avoid a normal sharing URL when the editor expects iframe code.

Disconnect

Choose Disconnect on the SproutVideo card. This removes library access; it does not delete the original video from SproutVideo. Existing lesson embed codes still depend on the provider's availability and permissions. Check important lessons after changing either the connection or the video itself.
