Connect YouTube
Authorize TeachKit with Google, pick videos from your channel, and manage access with YouTube’s privacy tools.
YouTube works great for quick lesson uploads or public marketing content. Once connected, you can search your channel directly from the TeachKit lesson editor.
Connect your channel
- Open Dashboard → Connections.
- In Video Hosting Services, click Connect on the YouTube card.
- Choose the Google account that owns the channel you want to use.
- Approve the requested permissions and return to TeachKit.
- The card updates to show YouTube is connected.
Add YouTube videos to lessons
- In the lesson editor, visit the Video Details tab.
- Search for a video by title. TeachKit lists your recent uploads and unlisted videos.
- Select a result to embed it instantly and copy over the runtime.
You can still paste an embed code manually if you prefer to use a specific playlist or timed start parameter.
Manage privacy from YouTube
TeachKit respects the visibility settings you configure on YouTube:
- Unlisted videos are ideal for paid classes. Only students with the TeachKit link can view them.
- Private videos will not appear in search results—keep them private until you are ready to share.
- Public videos show everywhere, including on YouTube itself.
If you remove a video or change its visibility, update the lesson to avoid broken embeds.
Disconnect the integration
Return to Dashboard → Connections and click Disconnect on the YouTube card. TeachKit will stop showing your YouTube library until you reconnect, but existing lessons keep their embed code.
