Add class instructions
Outline learning goals, supply onboarding details, and reinforce expectations before learners start their first lesson.
Class instructions help students and guardians understand the value of your course before they enroll. TeachKit surfaces this content directly beneath your class trailer and syllabus.
Navigate to the instructions tab
- Open your class from Classes in the sidebar.
- Select the Instructions tab in the class editor.
- A rich text editor appears with sections for learning outcomes and preparation notes.
Focus on benefits over features
- Start with the transformation students can expect after completing the class.
- Use bullet points to list the top three skills or deliverables they will walk away with.
- If you offer downloadable resources, describe how they support the learning journey instead of just listing file names.
Set students up for success
- Include prerequisites (e.g., “Students should have access to Adobe XD”) and recommend any preparatory reading.
- Provide guidance for pacing, such as how many lessons to complete per week.
- Clarify communication channels—let students know whether you use in-app messaging, email, or another platform for support.
Preview and publish later
Use the Preview button in the class editor to see how your instructions render on the public page. You can adjust formatting without affecting the live site while the class remains in draft mode. The Launch Checklist updates automatically when the instructions content is saved.
