Update your profile

Upload a photo, refine your bio, and set subject tags so your profile stands out in the TeachKit catalog.

Your profile is the first impression families see when they explore your classes. The Launch Checklist marks this step complete when your photo, bio, and subject preferences are saved in the dashboard.

Open your profile settings

  1. Go to /dashboard/profile.
  2. Confirm that the correct email address and display name appear at the top of the page.
  3. If you manage multiple organizations, use the account switcher in the header to verify you are editing the right workspace.

Add a compelling photo

  • Click Upload Photo and choose an image that is at least 512 × 512 pixels.
  • Center your face and use a neutral background so the image scales cleanly across the catalog and lesson pages.
  • Press Save. A green confirmation toast appears when the upload succeeds, and the Launch Checklist will auto-complete the step.

Write an inviting bio

  • Use the About You text area to share credentials, teaching style, and what students can expect in your classroom.
  • Aim for two short paragraphs (120–180 words). Break lines for readability—TeachKit preserves your formatting.
  • Mention any certifications or recognitions parents might search for.

Configure teaching details

  • Select grade levels and subject tags that best match your class catalog.
  • Toggle availability to show whether you are open to new enrollments or private tutoring.
  • Include links to your portfolio or classroom website in the optional External Links section.

Confirm and mark complete

When you save, TeachKit updates the Launch Checklist automatically. If you completed the work outside the dashboard (for example, your admin uploaded your photo), open the Update Your Profile card on /launch and toggle Mark complete to keep progress accurate.
